EVERTON BOOK SIGNING AT WATERSTONES

Pitch Publishing is proud to present an evening to remember for Evertonians of all ages as Waterstones Liverpool welcomes Spirit of the Blues author Christopher Beesley and his special guest Michael Ball on Tuesday 25 November at 6.30pm.

The duo will be joined by charismatic host Sam Carroll who is guaranteed to keep the energy levels up for the audience as Everton fans cherish the memories of Goodison Park following their move to Hill Dickinson Stadium on the Mersey waterfront.

Spirit of the Blues is the definitive story of Everton’s 133 years at Goodison Park, told with help from those who were there to witness the action and drama.

Christopher Beesley, Everton reporter for the Liverpool Echo, takes readers on an absorbing ride through Goodison Park’s most memorable matches with some of the finest stories told in English football.

Across 16 action-packed chapters, the experienced Merseyside sportswriter covers the full gamut of the historic ground’s history from Everton’s first fixture at Goodison in 1892 to their final one in 2025, highlighting 100 of the most significant Blues encounters on home turf, while including other major occasions such as the five World Cup games in 1966, two FA Cup finals and a world-record crowd at a women’s club match that stood for more than 98 years.

As well as talking about his book, Christopher will be joined by the Echo’s hard-hitting Everton columnist and former Blues player, Michael Ball, who lived the dream of growing up in the shadow of Goodison Park to turn out for the first team and become an England international footballer.

Their conversation will be followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing. Click here for more information.
