BOOK LAUNCH: WE'RE IN SAFE HANDS

Heart of Midlothian fans can get their hands on an advanced copy of We're in Safe Hands at a special celebration to mark the launch of Grant Young's new book on Friday 26 September in the Gorgie Suite at Tynecastle.

The stunning new book honours Hearts’ iconic goalkeepers from the 1950s to today, and follows his award-winning 51 Shirts. Grant is a passionate Jambo and collector, and the new book showcases rare goalkeeper memorabilia in this must-have book.

He takes readers on a journey from the late 1950s to the Championship-winning season of 2020/21, experienced through 51 match shirts, each brought to life with a compelling story and stunning photographs.

Grant doggedly tracked down the shirts over a 20-year period to bring them together for the first time in print. Immerse yourself in extraordinary kits revered by fans throughout the decades: eye-catching kits of the 70s and 80s, flamboyant kits from the 90s, then on to the 2000s and kits associated with successful seasons and an owner who would take the club to the brink.

Discover shirts from the 1959 League Cup Final, the Scottish Cup wins of 1998 and 2006, plus the incredible 2012 duel against city rivals Hibernian, along with obscure and extremely rare shirts.

Finally, we move to the current-day shirts accompanied by the highs and lows of relegation, promotion, demotion and becoming a fan-owned club.

The event to celebrate the book will include a star-studded line-up on the night will also include epic stories from Scotland’s number one Craig Gordon, 5-1 Hibs hero Jamie McDonald and fan-favourite Henry Smith.

While Jim Jefferies will share tales of the legendary Jim Cruikshank and Gordon Marshall Junior recalls his father’s glory days in Hearts’ golden era.

The event is hosted by Paul Mitchell and tickets include a copy of the book (RRP £35), entry to the event, as well as a pie and a pint for just £40.

Book now and grab your copy of We’re in Safe Hands before it hits the Hearts club store!
