Description

Tommy Ball, a key member of Aston Villa's 1923 all-star team, is the only English professional footballer deemed by law to have been murdered. The circumstances and reasons surrounding his death have puzzled sport and legal historians for almost a century. This book may just hold the answers.

About the author

Colin Brown, who is from Saltley in Birmingham, is a third generation Aston Villa supporter, his grandfather having watched the club in the 1880s. Colin first saw his team play in 1957 and has been a season-ticket holder for many years. For the past decade he has been a regular contributor to the street sale and online fanzine Heroes and Villains. The Armistice Day Killing is his first published book.
