Description

Last-day survival or nail-biting promotion, embarrassing cup exits and perennial non-achievement. Then occasional, almost unbelievable, moments of glory. That's the story of being a Birmingham City supporter - and it speaks to hopelessly committed fans everywhere, whatever their team. Hugging Strangers takes a wry look at how football grips us all.

About the author

This is Jon Berry's first book exclusively about football, although there are chapters in Boomeranting that deal with his attachment to Birmingham City and his own playing 'career'. He has written three books about education and teaching and is a regular contributor to the educational press. He writes a regular blog on politics and current affairs, squeezing in football wherever he can.
