He helped Aston Villa win the league and the European Cup, then joined Brian Clough at Nottingham Forest before ending an illustrious playing career with spells at Portsmouth and Crewe. Kenny now heads up the FA’s talent ID programme.

Brian Beard is the author of Aston Villa On This Day, The Breedon Book of Premiership Records and Three Lions, on the subject of England’s ongoing international failure ever since 1966; he also penned The Don, the autobiography of Don Goodman. Brian is a qualified FA coach, and was once a trialist with the New York Cosmos.
