About the author

Gerry Francis captained QPR to their highest-ever finish, second in 1976, and was handed the England armband aged just 23. He is one of the most successful English managers of the Premier League era, leading both QPR (1992/93) and Tottenham (1994/95) to the position of London’s top club. Chris Slegg is a BBC sports journalist who has reported on major events including World Cups and Champions League finals. He is a lifelong Tottenham fan.
